Councillor William Lowe, known as Bill has four children and four grandchildren; Thomas, Louise, Lydia and Isobel. Bill lived in Stratford-upon-Avon for five years during the 70’s, having returned in 1988 living here ever since.
Councillor Lowe has worked in local government since 1956 covering horticulture, landscape gardening, engineering and leisure centre operations.
Due to ill health, Councillor Lowe resigned his seat at the Town Council in 2013 but circumstances having changed, he was re-elected in May 2015 and represents Clopton Ward.
For over 50 years, Councillor Lowe has worked extensively with children and adults with disabilities. He is also a mentor for both P.H.A.B and Youth Services.
In the past, Bill participated in swimming and water polo events at national level and became a swimming coach and lifeguard. He also played Rugby Union up to County Trial Level. Nowadays, the little leisure time available still incorporates his love of swimming but he prefers to devote more time to his horticultural interests and enjoys the company of his grandchildren.
