Councillor Richard Vos was born and brought up in Altrincham, South Manchester and moved to Stratford-upon-Avon in 1985.  Richard has 2 children and 2 grandsons.

Richard worked for 35 years in Hotels and Hospitality.  During that time was General Manager of three of the town’s leading hotels: The Swans Nest, The Alveston Manor and The Shakespeare Hotel.  He has also managed hotels in the West and East Midlands.

Richard has always been involved in local groups and organisations, helping support local schools to raise funds for various activities, as a member of the organising team for the very first Stratford Food Festival in 2007 and for several years on the Stratford in Bloom committee, playing a leading role in re-organising and updating their fund-raising activity.

Richard coached at Stratford-upon-Avon Rugby Club for many years from the very youngest age group in 1992, all the way through to 2007 with the League and Cup winning Colts team.  He is still actively involved in sport playing competitive league cricket for Welford on Avon.
