Councillor Liz Coles was born in Wales but spent most of her life in North London with a brief spell working in the Netherlands. She moved with her husband and daughters to join family in Stratford-upon-Avon five years ago.
Liz was appointed to the Town Council in May 2019 and serves on the Finance and Scrutiny Committee, General Purposes Committee and Mayoral, Civic, Ceremonial & Events Committee. She is also a member of three of the sub-groups.
Liz has degrees in Information Science and Information Systems. She also has post graduate qualifications in School Business Management. She originally started as a researcher and library manager in the petrochemical industry. After having her children she changed direction and moved into database design and programming. Later on she moved into data management in a primary school and then onto school business management. She is now the business manager for a primary school in Warwickshire.
Liz has been a school governor for over 10 years for a secondary school as well as a trustee of the academy and member for the multi academy trust. She has always felt strongly about the need to provide opportunities for the next generation.
Liz’s interests include travel, dressmaking, the cinema and reading.
