The Councillors and Officers of Stratford-upon-Avon Town Council are deeply saddened at the news of the death of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh on Friday 9 April, 2021.

Our thoughts are with HM The Queen and other members of the Royal Family at this time.

Floral tributes in memory of HRH Duke of Edinburgh should be placed in the Garden of Remembrance, College Street, Old Town.

They will remain on display there until the day after the funeral, after which they will be composted.
Due to Covid-19 guidelines, we request that social distancing measures are adhered to at all times when placing floral tributes.

Clearly it is very difficult for members of the public to lay flowers at the present time due to Covid regulations.  An alternative suggestion might be instead to make a donation to a favourite charity in memory of Prince Philip.

The Council understands the enormous financial pressures that the pandemic has placed on some people, and therefore nobody should feel obliged to donate.

Due to current Covid Regulations, the Town Council is not able to offer residents the opportunity to sign books of condolence at the Town Hall following the death on Friday 9 April of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

Those wishing to leave messages of condolence are invited to do so on either of the e-condolence books, which can be accessed via the following links.
