Councillor Anthony Jefferson, known as Tony moved to Stratford-upon-Avon in 1987, having been born and raised in Yorkshire where he attended Grammar School. He went on to university in Cardiff, where he read Economics, and Durham reading Management. He has since has a long and varied career at senior management level, prior to running his own consultancy company in Leadership and Management Development for almost ten years.
Tony won the by-election for Avenue and New Town in December 2013 and represents the ward as a Conservative Councillor. He now serves on the Town Council's Planning Consultative Committee and also the Finance and Scrutiny Committee. Following the 2014 District Council election, Tony was elected to represent Avenue and New Town as a District Councillor.
Prior to the election he was appointed as Chairman of the Governors of Stratford-upon-Avon College. a position which he finds very time consuming but extremely rewarding.
Tony has little time for leisure but does enjoy reading, films and current affairs. He is particularly interested in Science Fiction and Fantasy, believing it a good way of managing reality. He has travelled extensively in both the USA and Southern Africa.
