Stratford-upon-Avon Strategic Partnership - Public Meeting

Stratford’s residents will have the chance to talk to members of a key organisation responsible for town centre improvements and hear about their work as it holds a virtual public meeting for the first time.

The Stratford Town Centre Strategic Partnership will hold its next meeting in public on Thursday December 16 at 2pm over Zoom.

The partnership is made up of various stakeholder organisations in the town, and was formed in 2020 to oversee the implementation of the Stratford-upon-Avon Neighbourhood Plan.

It has met monthly to discuss important plans and developments within the town centre and increase joined-up thinking before plans are developed.

And it will have an open meeting for the first time on Thursday, December 16 to inform the public about the work it has been carrying out so far in relation to town centre improvements as well as plans for the coming year.

The Partnership had previously discussed plans to improve Bridge Street and High Street to create a better balance of pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles, and is assessing other planned schemes for Stratford in the new year.

Geraldine Collinge, Director of Creative Placemaking at the Royal Shakespeare Company and chair of the SPG, said: “As we head into the end of 2021, we wanted to make our December meeting public to talk through the projects we’ve been working on together so far and what we are looking to progress in the future.

“The Partnership was created not only to oversee the Neighbourhood Plan, but to make sure the key organisations in Stratford could all meet and discuss plans together rather than having a disjointed approach to town centre improvements.

“We wanted to share what we have done with the public and encourage them to speak to us directly about our work and why the group’s existence will help shape Stratford’s future.

 “We are looking forward to the public’s attendance and would welcome any questions they have, either during the meeting or at the end.”
