Platinum Jubilee Events


Stratford upon Avon Town Council are delighted to be a part of the collaboration of events happening across the town to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee bank holiday weekend. Amongst the highlights will be:


Thursday 2 June 9:45pm

The lighting of the Jubilee Beacon followed by a short firework display. It will be held in Monument field by the Obelisk - pedestrian access is from Monument Way and Maidenhead Road. There is no vehicle access to the site. Accessibility Statement for the Jubilee Beacon can be found here.


Friday 3 June 10am-4pm

There will be a pictorial exhibition at the Town Hall of the Queen's visits to Stratford upon Avon. This is free of charge entry exhibition. Stratford Town Council are proud to work alongside Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.


Saturday 4 June 2-5pm

Families can join in with a picnic in the park in Bancroft Gardens. Bring a rug and your picnic and enjoy listening to music provided by a local school choir.


Huge thanks to Warwickshire County Council and Stratford District Council for funding the additional hours for the Park and Ride. Buses will be running between the following hours during the period of the Jubilee bank holiday:

Thursday – 10am – 6.45pm

Friday – 10am – 6.45pm

Saturday – 10am – 10 pm

Sunday – 10am – 7 pm
