Bridging the Gap - Clarification on Town Hall Victorian Christmas Fair

Bridging the Gap - Clarification on Town Hall Victorian Christmas Fair

It is just over three weeks away until the hugely successful and award winning Victorian Christmas Market  returns to the town-centre on Friday 6, Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 December 2019.

In the latest edition of Bridging the Gap, reference is made to the Victorian Christmas Community Fair in the Town Hall,  to coincide with the event.  This fair will showcase local charities and community groups.

The fair was initially scheduled to take place on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 December.  However, we are aware that many organisations have found it difficult to commit to both Saturday and Sunday trading.  In an effort to ensure that the Fair is vibrant and rewarding for both the stall holder and the visitor, the Council has taken the reluctant decision to hold the Fair on just one day this year, Saturday 7 December.  We believe that this will maximise the offer, which includes not just the community Christmas stalls, but also entertainment and refreshments.  We sincerely apologise if this causes inconvenience and we greatly regret disappointing those who could only attend on the Sunday.

The Fair will be open from 10:00am – 4:00pm on Saturday 7 December.  The Mayor will be opening the Fair at 11:00am during which she will announce the winner of the best dressed Christmassy stall and the best Victorian costume.  Refreshments will be available in the Ballroom, provided by the Mayor's Charities and co-ordinated by Judith Lahye-Cook.
